Male and Female

MALE AND FEMALE

Why male and female?

Genesis 2:19 Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man
called each living creature, that was its name.
20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals.
But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping,
he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh.
22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man,
and he brought her to the man.

God made us male and female, but why?

God is always trying to teach us about Himself.
He regularly uses His creation to do so.

God is self-existent. The Bible says that God has existed of Himself, infinitely.
While, humans are eternal, existing from conception forward,
God is infinite, having no beginning and having no end.

Before God created the angels, He had no one He could relate to.
He had no one to love. God was lonely.
While no created-being can equal God in any way, the angels gave God companionship.

And God wanted yet more companions, so He designed humans
that would reproduce on their own, and create new souls.

Adam was there on earth, with so much at His disposal,
but Adam was lonely.
God taught Adam the loneliness that God felt when only He existed.
So then, God made Eve. Adam and Eve had separate free wills.
God made Eve to help Adam understand how much God treasures companionship.

Humans, having some God-like characteristics, can feel loneliness.
And...with an intentionally-designed sexual libido, meant for marriage,
humans can experience the joys of companionship,
both through marriage and in parenthood.

And as children, if we are born into a healthy family,
we get a clue how it feels to be a child of God, if we decide to become born-again.

Sex differences:

The average male is larger and stronger than the average female,
with the man imperfectly representing God,
and the woman representing humans.

Typical men, with their constant sex drive,
illustrate God's unstoppable, consistent life force, always craving us,

while women, with their fertility cycles, having good days and bad days,
tend to represent inconsistent humanity.
(and our desire for God fluctuates, depending on our circumstances.)

But I also believe that women are especially designed to show forth
some of the aspects of God that men have trouble doing.

There is a difference between teaching and nurturing,
and pro-life women seem to be better at nurturing than even pro-life men.
