The Golden Rule

The Golden Rule can be applied to marriage too.

"Love thy neighbor as thyself"
can be translated:

For Husbands:
Love thy wife as you want your bio-dad to love thy bio-mother.
Love thy wife as you want your brother-in-law to love thy sister.
Love thy wife as you want your son-in-law to love thy daughter.

To the man: if you have a right to 'it' from your wife (whatever 'it' might be},
your dad has a right to 'it' from your mom.
your brother-in-law has a right to 'it' from your sister,
and your son-in-law has a right to 'it' from your daughter.

For Wives:
Love thy husband as you want your bio-mother to love thy bio-father,
Love thy husband as you want your sister-in-law to love thy brother,
Love thy husband as you want your daughter-in-law to love thy son.

To the woman: if you have to 'it' from your husband (whatever 'it' might be),
your mom has a right to 'it' from your dad,
your sister-in-law has a right to 'it' from your brother,
your daughter-in-law has a right to 'it' from your son.

While every marriage has a few variables,
this is a good starting point to make a marriage fair.
And every spouse has the right to hold this rule up for review in a disagreement.

If your bio-dad and bio-mom are apart from each other,
realize that you may have pre-set prejudices about marriage - that need adjusted.
THE GOLDEN RULE

The Golden Rule for in-laws

Let's continue this theme and apply the Golden Rule to in-laws:

Father-in-laws:
What is okay for your son to do with his wife, is okay for your son-in-law to do with your daughter.
What is okay for your daughter to do with her husband, is okay for your daughter -in-law to do with your son.

Mother-in-laws:
What is okay for your son to do with his wife, is okay for your son-in-law to do with your daughter.
What is okay for your daughter to do with her husband, is okay for your daughter -in-law to do with your son.

And the same goes for siblings-in-laws, grandchildren-in-law, etc. and so on.
This is the way the Golden Rule works in marriage.
