"I'm Sorry"

This phrase is not always an apology.

It is also a very good way to enter into a disagreement.
I learned this from a pastor I knew, Mark Hayes.

When his son wanted something he couldn't have,
his dad would introduce the negative by saying,

"I'm sorry", then explain why 'no' was the proper answer.

It shows some empathy and can be used in any type of relationship.
