'bye

Fathers sometimes just leave, or never show up ......... of their own accord.
Here are some examples from my circle of acquaintances:
'BYE

ignored

I worked with a woman ... who conceived children with a man,
a man who later refused to connect with them.

She once told me about getting on a city bus with her kids
and their father happened to get on the same bus.
He absolutely refused to look at his kids or speak to them.
So shallow of him. So hurtful to them.

This is how Jesus will treat that dad on the Judgment Day if he doesn't repent.
Except that Jesus will look at the man directly in the eyes before he says:
"Go away, I have no home for you here."

Those who shun their own children (without repenting) will find themselves rejected by God.

serial abandon-ers

I know an older woman; she had a pretty cousin. The pretty cousin was married.
When the pretty cousin was young, she went to work for a lawyer, who was also married.

Her boss had an unfaithful heart, and the pretty cousin let him date and seduce her.
They both became adulterers.

She got pregnant by him.
Her real husband wanted to stay married and offered to raise the child as his own.
But she wanted an 'upgrade'.

The lawyer divorced his wife and married the pretty cousin - leaving behind his first children.
She left her 1st husband - to become that lawyer's 2nd wife.

They bought a house and had a couple of kids together.
But once she became his wife,
he needed to hire a new secretary.

Some time later, his then-secretary became pregnant by him.
and so it goes.
The pretty cousin is now alone, and her children...?

This is certainly a dad-thing,
but it is also a mother-thing, eh?

I'm not implying a bit of sainthood to the lawyer,
but I am scrutinizing all parties involved.
I don't believe the pretty cousin is an innocent victim.

All those children, they are the victims.
'BYE

bi-racial abandonment

It happens. Biracial sex creates biracial babies.
The father may leave because the baby is too-dark,
or too-light,
or may just leave to avoid the family responsibility.

DNA rage

DNA's ability to verify paternity has birthed a new form of social rage -
DNA Rage: the certainty that a child's father can be scientifically proven.

Wow. This is a hidden reason for part of the social rage we are seeing now.

Accountability, and... the creation of a new people-group.
A people-group whose actions in the dark can be proven
in front of mere mortals in a court room.

Now, people can know a child's paternity
with the same certainty that God has always known.
